Miami-Dade Counts 2020 is interested in funding efforts in Miami-Dade County to encourage full participation in the 2020 Census. The grants will range from $5,000 to $25,000 and will be awarded to nonprofit and governmental organizations with thoughtful, culturally sensitive, and innovative strategies for reaching communities that have historically low rates of participation in the census. WHO’S ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

All 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies that serve Miami-Dade County and have a strong track record of providing quality programs may apply. Priority will be given to organizations that have a plan to conduct outreach in hard-to-count communities and pursue any of, but not limited to, the following approaches between October 2019 and May 2020:

  • Provide organizational capacity to support Census 2020 work

  • Support collaborations with and between local community groups to engage in outreach

  • Establish community sites to provide information and assistance

  • Organize events to promote participation

  • Conduct targeted communications efforts (flyers, radio spots, among others)

  • Secure buy-in from elected officials and municipalities

  • Other

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?

  1. Each organization may submit only ONE application.

  2. The deadline to submit the application is August 15, 2019, at 11:59 p.m.

  3. Applications should comply with all guidelines and include a project budget with this template.
